About Us

Swap Up
Swap Up is a regional-based project that aims to promote literacy and education by facilitating the exchange of books among individuals and communities. At the heart of the project is the idea of giving a “Second Life” to the unused books that could otherwise benefit a reader if it were to be exchanged. Our goal, at Swap Up, is to bring back the educational purpose of books to break the widespread practice of using books as an element of Interior Design.

Our Mission

"Swap Up is an agenda-based project that facilitates the book-exchage events with a purpose of educating the youth on the pressing issues around the world. The thematics of the Swap Up events might vary region-by-region and often tailored to the region’s socio-cultural background with a special focus on addressing the existing issues faced by youth withing the region."

Swap Up
A unique feature of every Swap Up event is the concept of ‘Mirroring the Issue’ where participants showcase different life situations that demonstrate the consequences of global and local issues such as monoculture, social inequality, illiteracy, global hunger and so on. We believe that only by allowing participants to engage with the topic through acting, we can awaken the feeling of social responsibility in our youth to tackle the issues at hand. Acting Performances is our main tool to achieve that goal.
